Part One: the current state of the affair

1. supporting for courses
   
   • course related materials through course.ad.ntust.edu.tw (hardware provided by edu program)
     
   • course discussion forums through mail.ad.ntust.edu.tw/course
     
   • collaborating course notes through mail.ad.ntust.edu.tw/mediawiki
     
   • file archiving through ftp access at course.ad.ntust.edu.tw (currently in suspension)
     
   
   
2. supporting for general affairs
   
   • official department web through www.ad.ntust.edu.tw
     
   • student living through life.ad.ntust.edu.tw
     
   • research labs hosted through www.ad.ntust.edu.tw (some labs have designated servers, such as apaud.ad.ntust.edu.tw)
     
   
   
3. wired network infrastructure
   
   • 7th floor: outlets at the design studios are mostly broken; grad lab and faculty offices may need more outlets
     
   • 9th floor: situation similar to that of the 7th floor; connections at north ends are unstable may need repair (could be wiring problem or networking hardware problem)
     
   
   

Part Two: proposal for fixed-line networking

1. full support for general office (north end of 8th floor) and faculty offices
   
2. full support for grad research labs (south end of 7th, 8th and 9th floors)
   
3. no support for undergrad studios (students should use campus-wide wireless)
